UCC Alumni Association launched

The Department of Student Affairs in the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) today hosted a breakfast meeting to launch the UCC Alumni Association (UCCAA) at its Worthington Avenue Campus in Kingston.

The inaugural breakfast meeting began by Master of Ceremonies, and UCC Marketing Manager, Lisa Andrade-Thompson just prior to 8 am where she welcomed past students, introduced the head table and the alumni committee members.

Dr. Sophia Terrelonge, UCC's Director of Student Affairs and alumni committee member took the time to explain the functions of the newly formed alumni association and encouraged all past students to join. 

Entertainment was provided by Mrs. Nigen Brown and Ms. Ashieka Dyer. Mrs. Brown's song received a positive review and an interpretive dance by Ms. Dyer kept guests attentive.

The keynote speaker, Professor Dennis Gayle, was introduced by UCC's Executive Vice President Professor Bernadette Warner who read Professor Gayle's list of accomplishments prior to assuming the role of Executive Chancellor and Interim President of the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean.

Professor Gayle's address updated guests on UCC's recent developments which included a name and status change from University College to University.

Other speakers and distinguished guests included Dr. Winston Adams, UCC Group Executive Chairman who gave opening remarks, Mrs. Geraldine Adams, Ms. Deanna Swaby, Mr. Tyrone Wilson and Dr. Peter Ndajah.
