PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

Computer software technology is an accumulation of information technology, software engineering, and computer science. The degree covers all stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, software design patterns, software development, software testing, and software project management.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of your online Bachelor of Science in Computer Software and Technology degree, you will be able to:

  • Apply knowledge of mathematics, computing, and scientific methods to system components and process development that meet requirement constraints in the software application domain.
  • Employ professionalism, ethics, and social responsibility values related to computer software technology tasks and projects.Identify the computer software requirements that meet stakeholders’ specifications and concerns by selecting the appropriate requirements and elicitation techniques.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS

  • High school diploma, GED, or Certificate of Equivalency / Proficiency (with minimum Grade Point Average of 2.5 from high school)
  • Passes in 5 GCE O Level / CSEC passes at A, B or C including Mathematics and English or International Baccalaureate (IB) or other international qualification deemed equivalent (subject to UCC Global's approval) may be required for Regional (Caribbean) Applicants Only.
  • Official Transcripts of all secondary school (and other universities) coursework and grades (translated in English). “Official” means that the applicant must request that his school send transcripts directly to the UCC Global's Registry (registry@ucc.edu.jm OR uccadmissions@ucc.edu.jm)
  • All official transcripts must also be sent to World Education Services (WES) for evaluation.
  • The language of instruction at UCC Global is English. Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate English Language proficiency, through the completion of an approved English testing regime such as, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

TRANSFER STUDENTS

  • Students who have successfully completed college credits may be eligible to transfer those credits to the UCC Global. Final determination on the eligibility of the transfer of credits will be made once your application and transcript(s) are received, reviewed and approved by the UCC Global.
  • The language of instruction at UCC Global is English. Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate English Language proficiency, through the completion of an approved English testing regime such as, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
