Records Unit

Information on graduation requirements, GPA award classifications, and Official Document Requests (ODRs).

Graduation

  • Once you have successfully completed the approved programme credits, you may make an application for graduation.
  • Graduation is usually held on the 3rd Sunday in July. Degrees are conferred in December without ceremony.
  • The Associate of Science degree is awarded after the successful completion of a minimum of 61 credits, including Advanced Standing where applicable.
  • The Bachelor of Arts or Science degree is awarded after the successful completion of a minimum of 121 credits, including Advanced Standing where applicable.
  • At the graduate level, the Master of Business Administration or Master of Public Administration is awarded after the successful completion of a minimum of 42 credits.

Award Classifications Based on GPA

The following classifications apply to undergraduate and graduate awards.

Undergraduate Level

GPA Degree
3.68 - 4.00 Summa Cum Laude
3.51 - 3.67 Magna Cum Laude
3.00 - 3.50 Cum Laude
2.00 - 2.99 Pass

Graduate Level

GPA Degree
3.68 - 4.00 Distinction
3.51 - 3.67 Honours
3.01 - 3.50 Credit
