The BSc in Innovation and Entrepreneurship is a 4-year degree programme. However, students with relevant qualifications such as CAPE and Associates degree may gain Advanced Standing thus reducing the length of time to complete the degree by as much as two years.

Today’s business environment requires professionals with drive and calculated risk management personas, who understand the dynamics of a competitive economy. They are focused on business idea generation and making the best of opportunities, to craft their own business operation.

This course, slated to begin in Fall 2017, is ideal for students who favour innovation and being their own boss. The degree programme combines content from face-to-face classes, along with courses that will be offered via recorded/multimedia video ONLINE, through several top US & other international universities and tutorials. The online modality will be available via video on-demand delivery, from professional tutors of ivy-league universities overseas.

You have the choice of selecting courses or modules, so that your course of study is completed ideally through classes in the daytime but with the flexibility for classes in the evening or on Sundays.

Students have the option of exiting with an Associate of Science Degree award in Innovation & Entrepreneurship after 2 years of study in this programme.

Course Objective
The Bachelor of Science Degree in Innovation & Entrepreneurship from the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC), is so structured, to give aspiring business operators an opportunity to develop the knowledge, analytical skills and techniques used by successful business executives.

The curriculum has been designed to include the most current trends, techniques and practices of contemporary Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Students will also have the opportunity to receive certification in some courses from the overseas institutions that UCC will partner with.

UCC is a tertiary institution registered by the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ), the official local accrediting body for tertiary education. We are working closely with the UCJ, for accreditation of the B.Sc. degree in Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

  • To be unconditionally admitted to complete UCC undergraduate programmes, individuals should possess a minimum of five (5) subjects at the GCE or CSEC level at grades A, B, C or 1, 2, 3 respectively. A CSEC pass at level 3 must have been obtained since 1998.
  • Candidates who have a minimum of 4 CXCs can also apply pending the outstanding CXC subjects or can opt to do UCC replacement courses Core Mathematics, English for Academic Purpose and Fundamentals of Accounting.
  • Mature Entry: Must be working for 5 years or more, be at a minimum age of 25 years. Academic qualifications, a detailed resume, a job letter and 3 professional references will be required.

  • Early Bird* Classes (Monday – Thursday) 7:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
  • Sunday Classes (3 classes 9:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.)
  • Day* Classes (9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
