Adjunct Lecturers (In-Person Only)

The University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) invites dynamic and dedicated individuals to submit applications for the post of Adjunct Lecturer (In-Person Only) to join our academic team and contribute to our mission of excellence in higher education. These appointments are strictly for face-to-face classes conducted at our Worthington campus in Kingston.

Selected individuals will facilitate courses offered by the School of Behavioural Sciences, Humanities and Law, within the Bachelor of Science degrees in Applied Psychology, Social Work, and Criminology and Criminal Justice. Courses include Spanish, Sociology, Politics, Psychology, Public Speaking, Business Communication, Human Development, Literature, Social Work and Academic Writing.

Interested individuals are asked to submit a cover letter and curriculum vitae—including a summary of relevant teaching experience—no later than Sunday, June 30, 2025, to progofficersbshl@ucc.edu.jm.

Basic Function and Responsibility:

Part-time members of the faculty are professional educators responsible for providing a quality, engaging learning experience for UCC students. Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering in-person lectures
  • Developing course materials
  • Advising students
  • Evaluating student progress
  • Participating in curriculum development and other academic-related activities

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (Doctorate preferred) in a relevant field.
  • Prior teaching experience at the college or university level preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to create inclusive and supportive classroom environments.
