DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

SUMMARY

The Database Administrator will see to the performance, integrity and security of the database. The Database Administrator will be involved in the planning and development of the database, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users to ensure data remains consistent across the database. He/ She will make provision for data security and recovery control (ensuring all data is retrievable in an emergency) as well as to ensuring data is clearly defined to allow users to access data concurrently, in a form that suits their needs.

JOB SUMMARY

The Statistician will be responsible for:

  1. Conducting statistical institutional effectiveness research, working with Heads of Academic, Administrative and Strategic Business Units.
  2. Participating in the development of statistical methodology, study design and data analysis.
  3. Using statistical software and other methods to gather, analyze and interpret research data.
  4. Formatting data to develop and prepare reports, charts, tables and other related documents.
  5. Collaborating with the relevant IS&T appointed Manager to ensure the timely publication of data and dashboards to all relevant stakeholders within UCC so as to facilitate decision-making
