UCC to confer Marlene Street Forrest and Gordon “Butch” Stewart with Honorary Doctorate Degrees
The University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) will confer the Honorary Doctoral Degree in Public Policy on Mrs. Marlene Street Forrest, CD, JP, Managing Director of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) and the Honorary Doctoral Degree in Business Administration posthumously, on the late Hon. Gordon “Butch” Stewart, OJ, former Chairman of Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts International, the ATL Group and its subsidiaries, Appliance Traders and the Jamaica Observer newspaper.

UCC group restructures for growth
Seeking the best path to growth, the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean, UCC, has this year formally spun off several business activities into a number of subsidiary companies as part of a strategy it has been developing since last year.
Executive Chairman Winston Adams and his wife, Geraldine Adams, who are 50-50 shareholders in Jamaica-registered UCC, are also the principals of UCC Group Limited, which was registered in St Lucia earlier this year.
UCC among new Common App Members
The University of the Commonwealth Caribbean is a new member of the Common Application 2021/22 programme which gives students applying to college in 2021-2022, access to over 30 additional colleges and universities across the United States . The Common App online application system used by more than three million applicants, teachers, and counselors around the world every year, streamlines the college application process, providing resources and guidance to make college more accessible for students.
In addition to providing a single, online application and 24/7/365 support for all students applying to member colleges and universities, the Common App connects applicants to a mobile app, financial aid and scholarship information, virtual mentors, online portfolios, and a vast library of counselor resources available in English and Spanish.
