Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Senator the Hon. Ruel Reid, has welcomed a joint venture partnership to establish a new law school in the Caribbean.

The move, which involves collaboration among the Government of Guyana, the University College of the Caribbean (UCC), and the Law College of the Americas (LCA), will facilitate access to enhanced legal education for a wider cross section of qualified persons.

While the company says it is not yet ready to share the specifics of its plans, the University College of the Caribbean (UCC) has gone ahead to advertise for a vice president in charge of franchising who will also oversee mergers and acquisitions.

On Monday, an unnamed spokesperson told the Jamaica Observer that more details will be available in January.

However, press adverts indicate that it is seeking a VP for International Franchise, Mergers and Acquisitions.

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Cabinet in Guyana has formally approved a public-private partnership between the Government of Guyana, the University College of the Caribbean (UCC) and Law College of the Americas (LCA) to establish a new law school based in Guyana.
