This course addresses primarily topics in the related fields of organisational behaviour and organisation development. Within the contemporary learning organisation, individual and team dynamics play an important role in shaping relationships and therefore in determining outcomes. Specifically, understanding the role of the leader and the manager is important to effective stewardship over organisational resources.
The course begins with a micro focus, moving from the individual level to group behaviour in organisations. It incorporates issues relating to globalisation, communication, decision-making, leadership, management, culture, organisational change, conflict resolution, and negotiation. Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will possess knowledge of modern concepts and techniques relative to the topic and its application in various organisational settings.
