The Anti-Money Laundering Professional Certifications are 15-16 week short courses offered by the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean in partnership with the Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crimes Institution, Florida. These courses offer individuals and teams in public and private sector organizations an opportunity to become internationally certified as Anti-Money Laundering Specialists through the AMLFC Institute.  Outlined below are the three (3) courses currently being offered.

Regulatory Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) & Financial Crimes Prevention (FCP) Certification course teaches participants the basic skills and knowledge that will assist candidates in establishing an effective supervisory programme within a competent authority and to undertake a supervisory examination.

In recent times reporting entities and other stakeholder organizations within the AML/CFT/CFP regime have had the challenge of having to reach international global standards set by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). Recommendations 5, 6, 7, 8 and 17 of the revised FATF 40 recommendations speaks to issues surrounding the global threat of terrorism/financing of terrorism and sanctions. Institutions within the AML/CFT/CFP regime are now required to train and develop its resources (human and technological) towards a clear understanding of the risks posed by the proliferation of terrorism and terrorists financing strategies aimed at exploiting the global economic environment for the purpose of causing mass casualties and propaganda.

Fundamental to anyone engaged in any international business, including the activities of non-profit organizations, is the need to comply with anti-bribery laws prohibiting the bribery of foreign public officials.
