Kacy Hislop, Brithny Hamilton Crowned Mr and Miss UCC 2026 — Waving the Banner of Knowledge and Innovation

 

Kingston, Jamaica – Monday, January 26, 2026: The University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) successfully staged the Mr and Miss UCC 2026 Pageant on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at its main campus located at 17 Worthington Avenue, Kingston 5. The event unfolded as an elegant evening of creativity, intellect, and student excellence under the theme ‘Royal Innovation’.

The student-led competition brought together peers, faculty, alumni, sponsors, and members of the wider community for a vibrant showcase celebrating innovation, leadership, and confidence among UCC’s student body. Contestants captivated the audience through a series of segments designed to highlight poise, talent, and articulation, reflecting the university’s commitment to holistic student development.

The Mr UCC 2026 title was secured by Kacy Hislop, a second-year Business Administration student, whose commanding talent presentation and clear, distinctive responses during the question segment earned the confidence and favour of the judging panel. Reflecting on his victory, Hislop shared, “I felt ecstatic and somewhat overwhelmed by the victory; the defining moment of the pageant for me was being crowned and fully appreciating the expectations that accompany the title”.

Meanwhile, Miss UCC 2026, Brithny Hamilton, a final-year Marketing student, delivered an equally compelling performance. She commanded the stage with a poised and graceful carriage, complemented by a confident and incisive response during the interview segment, which ultimately confirmed her victory.

Reflecting on her victory, Miss UCC 2026, Brithny Hamilton shared, “It is truly an amazing feeling and I am incredibly thankful for the love and support and I feel deeply honoured to be given the opportunity to represent the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean on a higher platform”.

The competition also recognized several outstanding finalists whose performances contributed significantly to the success of the evening. In the male category, Nyone Pearson was named Second Runner-up, while Roshane Gordon secured the position of First Runner-up. In the female category, Maya Barnes earned the title of Second Runner-up, and Kayla Landells was awarded First Runner-up. Each finalist demonstrated commendable confidence and competitive excellence throughout the pageant.

The Mr and Miss UCC Pageant remains one of the university’s signature student-led events, serving as a platform for personal growth, campus engagement, and institutional pride. The 2026 staging reaffirmed UCC’s dedication to providing meaningful extracurricular opportunities that complement academic achievement while fostering leadership and innovation among its students.
