Instructions for Bachelor’s Degree Students - Tertiary (Education) Bursaries
Value $100,000 JMD per academic year
Period July 1 - October 31 & November 1 - February 28
Who Can Apply?
The requirements for 1st year bursary applicants are as follow:
- Must be enrolled in a UCC Bachelor's degree programme
- Must receive at least one (1) PATH payment while in secondary school.
- Must maintain the disciplinary standards of the UCC.
- Display active participation in clubs, societies or outreach programmes (required after enrolment).
The acceptance criteria for students registered in the second (2nd) to fourth (4th) year of their programme are as follow:
- Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Must be in the 2nd – 4th year of study
- Must participate in clubs and societies

- Registration status within the institution of study must be current.

- Please DO NOT submit the application form to the PATH office — they will send you back to UCC. UCC does not accept email or physical/ drop off submissions
Instructions for CSEC, Diplomas, Certificates, or Associate’s Degree Students - Post-Secondary (Education) Grants
Grants Value $15,000 - $30,000 JMD
Who Can Apply?
- Students must apply within two years of leaving High School
- Must be enrolled in a UCC Associate’s programme
- Registration status within the institution of study must be current.
- Must have deposit receipt that was paid for school fee or registration
- Have a school letter that includes student registration status, school fee and duration.
- Must have ID/TRN or Family Head
- Student must have a valid TRN
How to Apply
- If you are applying for the Post-Secondary (Education) Grant, please submit your application to the nearest Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS) office in your parish. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- When can I apply for the PATH Grant?
Applications open every year for Fall semester July 1 to October 31 and for Spring November 1 - February 28 of the following year
- Do I need to submit a new application each year?
Yes, a new application is required every academic year you wish to be considered.
- Is it mandatory to complete community service hours?
Yes. To be considered for the PATH Grant from your second year onwards, you must complete 30 hours of community service in the previous academic year.
- How long can I receive the PATH Grant?
You can receive the grant for up to 4 consecutive years after enrolling.
- What happens if I skip a year?
If you skip a year, you’ll lose the benefit for that year. If your study period goes beyond the standard time, you will no longer be eligible for the grant.
- When is the grant awarded?
The application opens in the Fall semester and the grant is typically awarded by mid-Spring. Please note that you will need to cover Fall tuition by other means. For Spring you can use a payment plan and apply your PATH funds toward your outstanding balance.
- What happens if I don’t use all my PATH funds?
Any unused PATH funds will remain on your account. If you have a balance left after registration, it can be applied toward your next semester’s registration.
