This course introduces students to aspects of good organisational governance principles and frameworks, key concepts of proper ethical behavior, as well as the role internal auditors should undertake in supporting their organisations.
Topics that will be included in this course are the definition of ethics as it relates to business, governance strategies and best practices in business.
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- Outline the concepts of ethics and organisational governance.
- Describe the steps in developing a business ethics programme and policies.
- Describe the role of ethics in internal auditing.
- Demonstrate and understanding of basic organisational dynamics (including governance), and be aware of select country specific governance principles and frameworks.
- Explain the role of internal auditing in the organisation’s governance process and programmes.
This course is open-entry. There are no prerequisites for entry.
