Applied Psychology
PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION
The Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Psychology gives students foundational knowledge of psychological theory and research methods and how they are utilized in real world situations. Psychology is the study of human minds, experiences, and relationships. It is a fascinating lens through which we can examine and change the world we live in. In this programme, we encourage students to engage with psychological research and its applications. As students progress, they will deepen their understanding of the personal and social relevance of this lively and contested field of study.
The B.Sc. Applied Psychology aims to offer students the opportunity to study issues and concerns relevant to Psychology in the 21st century and apply psychological evidence and theories to real world situations.

- Immerse students in internship opportunities that link theoretical knowledge with practice
- Emphasize research competences that equip Human service leaders to question, investigate, report, communicate and add to existing knowledge in the disciplines
- Mentor students to serve with empathy and commit to diversity, equity, and social justice
- Train behavioral sciences professionals who apply ethics in all contexts and practices as prescribed by the American Psychological Association
- Expose behavioral science leaders to current and emerging technologies
PROGRAMME LEARNING OUTCOMES
Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology will be able to:
- Demonstrate a broad understanding of psychology as social and behavioral science and explore its connections to other disciplines.
- Interpret, design, and conduct basic psychological research.
- Apply basic research methods, critical thinking, and inquiry to address problems related to human behavior and mental processes.
- Use effective written and oral communication skills to analyze and disseminate information.
- Apply theoretical competencies including psychological evidence and theories to real world situations in professional settings.
- Learn personal/practical/ applied life skills pertaining to personal adjustment, relations with others and cross-cultural awareness.
