The Department of Student Support, Career Development, and Alumni Services is pleased to advise of the commencement of the Student Council Elections for the academic year 2023 - 2024. Please note the following upcoming dates, requirements, and benefits attached for additional details.

Play your part in enhancing the academic and student life experience for all UCC students. 

Student Council Upcoming Dates

1. Nomination: May 29th – June 28th, 2023 (Closes at 11:59 pm on the 28th).
2. Candidate Verification: June 29th-30th -  DSS verifies nominated candidates
3. Campaign: July 1st – to July 22th, 2023
4. Debate: July 23th, 2022 @ 6 pm 
5. Voting: July 24& 25th closes at 11:59 pm on the 25th
6. Returning Officer declares elected members on July 26th, 2023
7. Inauguration Ceremony July 30th
8. Newly Elected Council takes Office July 31st

Criteria all candidates MUST meet in order to be eligible for nomination are as follows:

1. All candidates MUST have and maintain a G.P.A. of 3.0 or above.
2. All candidates MUST have completed at least one (1) year of study at UCC.
3. All candidates should be in good financial standing with the UCC.
4. All candidates should be registered students for the semester in which the nomination is
opened.
5. All candidates MUST complete the nomination form (attached) and should have a
minimum of ten (10) registered students nominating them or (five (5) for the Regional
Campus Chairpersons).
6. All candidates MUST ensure that their nomination form has the names and emails of two (2) UCC lecturers who would recommend them for the post.
7. For Departmental Representatives, all candidates MUST obtain the signature of their Head of Department as the final confirmation that the criteria are met, thus confirming the eligibility of the nominee.
8. All candidates MUST upload their completed nomination forms at the end of the nomination form.
