This course introduces participants to the essential principles of and legal framework for developing health and safety programmes. Participants will develop an appreciation of the importance of occupational safety and health to the firm seeking to gain and maintain competitive advantage, through maintaining safe facilities, sponsoring appropriate training programs, and providing necessary safe equipment.

The course will cover the theory and practice relating to the development of health and safety programmes and strategies for ensuring that the physical and psychological well-being of the workforce is achieved. Additionally, the course is structured to increase participants’ knowledge of the identification, evaluation and controlling of hazards in order to prevent accidents and/or diseases in the workplace.
